What is the Most Valuable Diamond Color? - Heart In Diamond
We all have our own personal tastes when it comes to evaluating the beauty of a gemstone -- but that being said, there are a few objective measurements used to define the value of diamonds. If you are currently shopping for jewelry, then you have probably heard of these values, referred to collectively as the "four Cs." (Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carats.)
Having mentioned this, it is important to clear up a common misconception. "Color" in this context refers to a very narrow scale ranging from completely transparent (A grade) to translucent yellow. (Z grade.) And of diamonds ranked A to Z, usually only A through D are considered valuable.
However, colored diamonds (called "fancy diamonds,") have distinct values that cannot always be judged by the four C system. Green, Red, Blue, and even Deep Yellow diamonds are sometimes the most valuable of all -- not in spite of, but because of their beautiful and dazzling colors.
