Turning ashes to diamonds costs less than you might think

Turning ashes to diamonds is a unique way to keep your deceased loved one close. Once people have that sparkling gem in their hands, they regularly report a sense of peace and satisfaction that helps to make their grief easier. As they wear those memorials, they feel as if their loved one is comfortingly close.

However, because ashes are being turned into precious stones, some people worry that a funeral diamond is out of their reach. If mined diamonds are expensive, how much more costly must a one-of-a-kind memorial gem be? The answer might surprise you.

How much does it cost to turn ashes into a diamond?

If you have considered having the cremated ashes of a loved one transformed into a diamond - then you’re probably wondering what something like this might cost. Surprisingly, turning ashes into diamonds cost is usually cheaper than the average funeral and burial in the United States.

At Heart in Diamond (HID), we are proud to create stunning gemstones from the cremated ashes of a loved one for the lowest price of lab-grown diamonds in the industry. However, you will find that even though we offer a cheap price for these precious stones, our clients tell us heartfelt stories about how the value and worth of their diamond reach beyond measure.

The price of turning ashes into diamonds is usually less than a funeral

Finding out that the ashes to diamond cost for your loved one will be in the low thousands of dollars might come as a shock. Yet, what many people fail to consider is the fact that a traditional funeral and burial usually costs much more.

You can easily have your loved one cremated, their ashes turned into a gem, and have it set within the jewelry of your choice, for as little as about $2,200-$9,000. A funeral and burial, however, typically cost $10,000 or more. Far from being a costly option, a diamond made from ashes can serve as an affordable and meaningful way to honor the one who has died. Read more example calculations for cremation gems here.

Our gemstones are priced lower than the competition’s

Lab-grown diamonds have always cost less than their mined counterparts. In fact, they can cost up to 30 percent less than a stone of the same size and quality. This means that the cremation business, in general, is capable of offering you precious gems for much less than you would pay for one taken directly from the Earth. Your precious stone will be even more valuable because it will be entirely unique, formed from the cremains of your deceased friend or family member.

In order to calculate the cost of a diamond grown from ashes, you need to first consider what type of gemstone you are going to purchase. The size and the color of the gem that you order are the two main factors that are going to influence the overall price of the stone.

You can order a very large stone or you can also order sets of small loose diamonds. If you are planning on buying brilliant stones for several different members of the family, you might want to consider ordering a pack of mini diamonds so that many of you can have a memorial from a family member. We offer incredible prices for our set of small loose diamonds. Please see the following price examples of our orange-yellow mini diamonds in brilliant-cut with a size range between 0.015-0.04ct (about 2mm):

  • A mini set of four costs only $295 per stone for a total price of $1180
  • A mini set of three costs only $365 per stone for a total price of $1095
  • A mini set of two costs only $475 per stone for a total price of $950

At HID, however, we provide a cost for turning ashes into diamonds that is significantly lower than any other company in the industry. Our secret? We own our production facilities. This means that we can offer you the lowest possible prices because we do not have to pay to have your loved one’s cremains sent out to another facility for processing.

Take, for example, the price of a half-carat round blue funeral diamond. In some places, that gem would cost you almost $7,900. However, through us, you can get a gem of the same size for $7,785. With these kinds of cost savings, obtaining a precious memorial gem is much more manageable even with a tight budget. The total ashes into diamonds price will also depend on the size and color. The cost of the gem you choose will depend upon two factors: The size and the color of the stone. As a result, each of our options has a different cost estimation associated with it.

Size:

The larger your gem, the more it will cost. For example, a mini orange-yellow stone of .03 carats will cost $750; a half-carat stone of the same color will cost $5,445, and a one-carat stone of the same color will cost $8,945.

Color:

The rates for your precious stone will also vary depending upon the color you select. White ones are the most expensive, and orange-yellow ones are the least expensive. Following is the relative cost of each color diamond, from most expensive to least expensive:

  • White (clear)
  • Blue
  • Ruby red
  • Yellow-green
  • Orange-yellow

The result of these price differences is flexibility for you. There is no set price that you must spend in order to buy a diamond. Instead, you can choose a size and color that reflect both your budget and your loved one. The result is a brilliant gem that serves as an affordable yet perfect remembrance of the beauty your loved one brought to the world.

Choose a payment plan and make small monthly installments

In addition to offering the lowest price to transform ashes into diamonds in the industry, we also make it easy to afford the product you choose by allowing you to opt for an interest-free payment plan. Any gemstones over .03 carats are eligible for this payment plan. It works as follows:

  1. Select your precious stone.
  2. Pay 25 percent of the value upfront.
  3. Pay the rest of the cost over 12 or 24 months in equal monthly payments.

For example, a .10 carat orange-yellow diamond costs $1,995. However, you can put down a 25% deposit of $499 and then make 24 monthly payments of just $62. This plan makes these affordable for just about any budget, allowing you to focus on remembering your loved one instead of on the cost.

The total cost of making diamonds out of ashes does not include the jewelry setting

The cost of your gemstone will include the entire ordering and manufacturing process. Everything from the consultation with our experts to the cutting, polishing, and grading of your finished product will be included.

The only thing not covered by the price of your diamond is the cost of any jewelry settings you choose. Should you decide to memorialize your loved one embedding your jewel into a pendant, or earrings, you will pay an additional fee for the setting. However, we offer more than 600 jewelry settings from which you can choose. This wide array of choices again makes it possible to create the ideal memorial to a loved one on almost any budget.

If you are grieving the loss of a loved one and want a way of remembering them for the long-term, you cannot do better than to choose a diamond from HID. If you want to know how these gemstones change people’s lives, get one for yourself and see how it can provide you with the comfort and closure you seek. While your diamond’s value will far exceed its monetary expense, our low prices, numerous options, and flexible payment plans make obtaining that gemstone easier and more affordable than ever before.
