Cremation Diamonds: Creating a Gift They'll Treasure Forever
Finding a special gift for someone you love is rarely ever easy. No matter how much thought and love you put into the process, it’s difficult to come up with a gift that truly shows what the person you’re shopping for means to you.
At Heart In Diamond, we can help you create a one-of-a-kind gift guaranteed to sweep them off their feet. As well as making cremation diamonds to honor lost loved ones, we also create diamonds out of small samples of hair which can be collected from people of any age.
You can use hair samples from various family members to create a special, heartfelt gift your loved one will cherish for life.
Gift ideas
There are loads of ways you can get creative with diamonds and make a unique piece of jewelry unlike anything else in the world. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Single diamond
Combine hair samples from multiple family members to make a single diamond. This is a great way to highlight the strong bond you share as a family and the love you have for each other. A solitaire ring with a single diamond is a wonderful way to show off the gemstone.
If you’re working with a small budget, creating a piece of jewelry with a single diamond is the most cost-effective option. But if you can afford to spend a little more than the minimum, a single diamond is a great choice, too. You can use the money you save on making multiple diamonds to create a larger, more impressive single diamond for your loved one.
Multiple diamonds
For something a little more impressive, consider making a piece of jewelry with one individual diamond for each family member. You can choose to keep all the diamonds the same color, size, and shape or highlight everyone’s individuality and go with different colors, sizes, and shapes.
A simple band studded with multiple diamonds is a great way to showcase your family in a single piece of jewelry.
Specific descendents
Instead of including your whole family, you could make some diamonds exclusively from the hair of their children. This is an excellent Mother’s Day present and is a wonderful act which will never be forgotten. Alternatively, you can use the hair of their grandchildren for an equally loving gift.
If you’ve got an even number of hair samples, consider using them to make two identical diamonds. This way you can turn them into a beautiful set of earrings.
Include past family
At Heart In Diamonds, we make diamonds from cremated ashes as well as hair. If you’ve got the cremains of some family members who have passed away, you can use them to include them in the piece of jewelry.
By using the remains from deceased family members to make diamonds, you can involve many more people in your family tree. You’ll also be providing your loved one with a special way of connecting with the people from their past.
Pets
If the person you’re creating the gift for is a big animal lover, you can even include their pets in the special piece of jewelry you’re making. You need around ½ cup of fur or hair from each animal to make a diamond and the creation process is exactly the same, whether the sample is from an animal or a human.
Leave space for the future
Many people consider pieces of jewelry made with cremation diamonds to be family heirlooms that can be passed on through generations. If you like this idea, consider leaving space on the piece of jewelry for future family members to add their own diamonds.
How it works
You need to collect around ½ cup of hair from each family member — or ½ cup of fur from each pet. After you send the samples to us, along with your completed order form, we’ll analyze them to determine their composition. The next step is to extract the pure carbon from each sample.
If you want a single diamond, we’ll combine all the carbon and add it to a diamond-growing seed. If you want individual diamonds, we’ll keep each carbon sample separate and combine each one with a diamond growing seed.
The sample is then placed inside an HPHT (High-Pressure High-Temperature) machine. Here incredibly high temperatures and pressures are applied, imitating the conditions that cause diamonds to form within the Earth’s mantle. After 70-120 days, your rough diamond is created.
During the final stages, we cut and polish your diamond according to your specifications. We then place it inside your chosen jewelry setting and ship it to the provided address.
