The ordering process

We utilize a simple 5-step system to ensure a stress-free ordering process for you.

Our team will provide you with regular status updates and full transparency throughout the process!

  • 1. Place your order

    Click the “Ready to order” option and fill out our online order form. Our team will issue a complimentary Order Kit to your preferred shipping address: the Kit will include your carbon collection tools and some essential information on your diamond creation process.

  • 2. Send us your carbon sample

    Using the tools and instructions included in your Kit, please collect the carbon sample and send it to us: we require all our clients to collect ⅔ cup (approx. 5.5 oz) of ashes or ½ cup (approx. 0.07 oz) of hair. In case you do not have the required amount available, please let us know and we will provide you with alternative solutions!

  • 3. Receive your Heart In Diamond Order ID

    Once we receive the carbon sample, we will assign a unique ID to your order: it will allow for full traceability from the moment your order is placed. You will also receive regular status updates on your order at every stage of the process!

  • 4. Wait for your diamond to grow

    Your diamond will undergo several stages: from initial carbon sample analysis to growing phase, cutting, polishing and certification. Depending on your chosen diamond color, it will take us from 75 to 120 days to complete your order.

  • 5. Receive your diamond

    Once your diamond passes our multi-step quality control, we issue the Certificate of Authenticity: it includes the grading report for your diamond together with the detailed breakdown of its chemical composition. Your local Heart In Diamond representative will get in touch with you to confirm your preferred shipping address and schedule the delivery of your order!

Frequently asked questions

We advise our clients to send us 1/2 cup (0.07 oz) of hair or 2/3 cup (5.5 oz) of ashes regardless of the diamond size. In case you do not have this precise amount available, we suggest going with one of these two options:

* combining materials (the majority of our clients prefer to combine their own hair with the hair or ashes of their loved one);

* authorizing us to add a small portion of pure carbon to the original sample in order to achieve the required amount.

There is no additional charge for going with either of these options!

Using a patented high-temperature process, hair or cremated ashes provided by our customers are converted into pure carbon, which is the primary element required for diamond formation either in a laboratory or through the naturally-occurring processes deep under the Earth’s crust.

You can use any material rich in organic carbon: ashes, hair, pet fur, etc. Please contact us to see if your material qualifies for your special diamond creation!

Every Heart In Diamond comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that guarantees that your diamond is physically, optically, and chemically identical to a genuine mined diamond. While all our Certificates include a full diamond grading report, you can always submit your Heart In Diamond for additional verification at an independent facility (e.g. GIA / Gemological Institute of America).

Yes, we do! In the unlikely event of anything happening to your diamond during shipment, you are fully insured.
